Ben began working on a social studies project involving Australia. He is currently doing some research. Next he will diary a 5 day trip to Australia. Finally he will create a powerpoint of the trip. (He is following a Social Studies Fair project outline from the school that our writing helper works at.)
We have enjoyed learning about the land down under. For our weekly cooking last week we made ANZAC Bikkees -an australian cookie designed to provide nourishment to WWI soldiers. We have been looking for a book set in Australia for our group read but have yet to find one that looks exciting. (I wanted Ben to go with me to see the current Movie 'Australia'. He liked the idea until he saw it was almost 3 hours long.)
